According to ASHA (American Speech Language and Hearing Association), teletherapy refers to delivering online therapy sessions through using technology.
You need a webcam, a smart phone/tablet/laptop, and a stable internet connection. It is also helpful for all of the participants to wear headphones to assist with better sound quality.
Therapy sessions are conducted on a HIPAA compliant platform between the therapist and the client. If the client is a young child, then a parent or caretaker may be asked to be present for the session to help facilitate therapy.
